Wake up & smell the forest !! Here's another chance for most of you who were too hungover, etc. from the Holidays to get to last Sunday's super beautiful Redwood Forest & Wine Castle adventure. It was 60 degrees on a beautiful sunny day. Some RSVP's (Y) didn't show up. A big "NO NO". NOTE: If you broke a nail the day before & are too incapacitated to move : please call me asap or sooner! No computers. There are carpool situations to consider, etc.

This great trek is in far Eastern Napa County. It is a moderate trek of 5-7 miles w/elevation to 1000 ft. If some have been on this hike in the past, I'm changing it to some new trails around & over the mountain. The final leg of this hike should be super cool as usual. Off Trail Leg: Creek crossings, Fern canyons, boulder & ledge scaling & a final drop down over some caves and a waterfall ladder. A picnic & wine tasting will follow.
The hike should end around 2:30-3:00 pm. The Wine tasting option follows lunch/picnic.

Water,snacks,trail/energy bars are provided. Wine tastings fees vary from Free to 5.00 p.p.

More info: Gym shoes not recommended. I have a number of hiking sticks available to use.

DIRECTIONS & CARPOOL INFO: EAST BAY CARPOOL PICKUP LOCATION: Carrows restaurant next to Starbucks . Hwy 4 west to center st. exit in Martinez. Turn left over frwy. to next light. Carrows is in shopping Ctr. on the corner.(can't miss it.) CARPOOL Meet time 9:00 am.

On your own directions: Hwy 680 across Benicia bridge to hwy 12 West(Napa). West on 12 to 3rd light 12/29. Turn right to next light & go right. Turn right at Imola ave. (4th light) proceed to end & turn right into gated lot & go past the pay kiosk.(I will handle the fee). Park on the right in the back near the picnic tables.

From Marin: take hwy 80 East to Red Top Rd. Turn left under hwy 80 & curve around right to Hwy 12. Turn left on 12 to 12/29 & then right. Follow directions above.
